She smirked at his response. “I was merely trying to help you boy.” Her face cleared of all emotion at his retort. “What might you be defending yourself from?”
The silverette groaned at her response and rolled his eyes in annoyance. “Sure, helping me…or helping yourself?” He then ignored her later question, feeling there was no need for an answer. She should have known what his response would be.
She laughed. “What does it matter to you if you helping you helped me? I still helped you didn’t I boy?”
“No. Nothing you did helped me.”
